The Position:
The Jar Prep Supervisor is a key contributor to the operations of our Jar Prep department. They provide support, direction and guidance to staff on shift, and follow procedures to ensure efficient operations and outcomes. The Jar Prep Supervisor has a close working relationship with the Jar Prep, Production and Logistics teams and understands the overall goals and functions.
Key position responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Ensuring completion of all open and close tasks and communicating clear and concise hand over notes with shared departments on Slack.
- Working on all “stations” and tasks assigned in the space (Processing and washing returned jars, Preparing labels, Preparing cases of jars, Loading cases of jars into walk-in freezer) with efficiency and a consistent high level of quality.
- Coordinating the team and setting expectations on shift ensuring the team is meeting deadlines and working efficiently (assigning daily tasks, break schedules, & other shift duties)
- Receiving delivery of stock, checking quality and quantity, FIFO stock when putting away. Occasionally placing orders.
- Training new staff, providing feedback & direction
- Following guidelines of our recycling and zero waste programs
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the area & correct functionality of equipment in accordance to food safety manual and SOPs
- Participating in supervisor meetings and contributing to our collaborative, round-table leadership culture

Requirements:
- Availability to work 20+ hours per week minimum up to 40 hours per week, Monday through Saturday. Shifts will be scheduled between 9 AM – 9 PM.
- Comfortable working in cold environments
- Experience leading a team
- Must be aware of and comfortable with the physical nature of this job; including lifting (20 kg), repetitive movement, and standing for periods of time
- Must have the following by first shift: FoodSafe Level 1, First Aid (Basic)
Compensation & Benefits:
- The starting wage for this position is $19.40/hour, and competitive compensation is offered based on qualifications and experience.
